Do not respond to threats of cyber bullying as this would instigate the bully to commit more offences of cyber bullying against you and you would be considered a cyber bully. Instead, save the traces of cyber bullying that you can find online, for example, rude comments or messages, etc. These can help in taking action against the cyber bully.In serious cases of cyber bullying, the victims should contact the ISP (Internet Service Provider) or the police. Offenses such as these are taken seriously and they would be willing to put in effort in stopping and preventing these behaviors.Besides this, you should get the support from a trusted friend or adult.

Cyberbullying legislation has been introduced in New York, Missouri, Rhode Island and Maryland. 

In June, 2008, Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-Calif.) and Rep. Kenny Hulshof (R-Mo.) proposed a federal law that would criminalize acts of cyberbullying.
